From time to time, Carnival notifies travel agents (and sometimes past guests) of their "One Day Sales". If you book a cruise on that day, you are usually eligible for free upgrades and additional savings.

Hey, I just want to get your opinions. Summer is over, most traveling tickets are discounting start Sep. 1. Do you think we are ok to travel now since the hurricane season is starting or when will it start and end? I keep hearing storm and hurricane warning over the Texas-Mexico and Florrida.

Hurricane season officially runs from June through November, with the peak of the season running form mid Aug - mid Oct. So, we are in the peak of the hurricane season now.

The advantage with booking cruises in the Sept-Nov timeframe is that rates are typically cheaper. When was the last time you heard a cruise line getting "caught" in a hurricane? Probably never or not recently since cruise lines typically do not get "caught" in hurricanes since they will just sail somewhere else and most modern cruise liners are faster than your average hurricane. If a hurricane were to hit a port of call, the cruise line will typically change ports or spend an extra day at sea.

Hope this helps. Feel free to let me know if you need anything else.

Upgrades available within like cabin categories (Interior to Interior, Oceanview to Oceanview, Balcony to Balcony).

what does that mean?

It means you can book the lowest category inside (usualy bottom of the boat, back of the ship) and for the same price, get upgraded to the higher category inside (higher deck, more mid-ship).

or oceanview...

or balcony...

Exactly what it says More desirable cabins within a category are usually based on size or deck location. Thus, if you booked a balcony on a lower deck an upgrade within the terms of this promotion you quoted would be to a balcony on a higher deck. Perhaps to make it clearer, if you booked and Oceanview, you could only be upgraded to a "better" Oceanview cabin, not a balcony cabin.

Sorry: wiseguy answered while I was typing

I get these one day sale emails almost every month. Every time they say "prices have never been this low, and won't be again for a long time!".

Then inevitably 30 days later I get the same email.

DelCheapo...wiseguy is a travel agent with whom I have done business with and have had great success. Many others on this board have had great sucess as well. When he posts they aren't the same sold "one day" emails that the lay person gets at least in my experience. I may be wrong but after checking these deals out they seem specific and very good.

The link takes you to a page where it says something about one day sale preview right now (wednesday)... does that mean there is a different sale tomorrow? It's a bit confusing... also, the prices listed right now seem to be about what they have been other times I've checked...
