damn, I just got a Garmin for $200... I had a Mio, that got stolen, that I really liked. This one is $99, free shipping. I am tempted to see if I can return mine and get this one and save $100... |
This thing is great. I got mine thru the Staples deal a few months ago. Added a SDHC and now have the latest Mio Maps, IGo & TomTom running on it. Definitely a recommendation if you're looking for a solid GPS unit. |

search in this forum. It's not native but with the included usb cable and optional SD card/reader, you can install the MioPocket "hack", which not only has TTS but other goodies like a media player, games, etc. You have to put an hour or two in, though. |

Are the Mio C520 and C720t hackable like the C320 also? which is best? |
i feel the 320 is the best it is also hackable... |
is it just me or does it take a long time for the mios to pick up the gps signal? it takes me anywhere from 5-10 minutes to pick up signal |
Mine picks up a signal very very quickly unless I start off from the underground garage. If starting it from outside it picks up a signal within half a block. |

I don't think anyone here going to write how to hack it. You have to do your reading yourself. |

Definitely a recommendation if you're looking for a solid GPS unit. A couple of different answers here: 1) Because I can. or 2) Every piece of software has different strengths. IGo8 uses Teleatlas maps which are not that good, but the UI and POIs are excellent and easily updated. Adding themes and different TTS voices or schemes are also easy to do. MioMaps comes with the unit and all I had to do is upgrade the maps to the newest, again very easy. TomTom was a little harder to install because of how the sw is locked down, therefore I only did it as a challenge. Mostly use Igo8 though. MioPocket is the easiest way to go for unlocking the C320. |

iGo8 is much better than the Miomap. If you get C320, put iGo8 on it. Great deal BTW. |
