I got an email last night from eBay / half.com, to an email address that I used for half.com back in 2002. It's for 15% off on eBay.com, through Dec 4, up to $100 off.

The email does say "non-transferable," but a quick google search shows that code on retailmenot.com with (only) a 33% success rate. So clearly, the code itself isn't unique per account, but it might only work with certain accounts. Worth a shot I suppose. I can't imagine that it would work with the MSFT deal...

EDIT: At least 1 member here is reporting that this does not work if you didn't get the email.

has anyone tried to use it with MS Live?

As a general rule, eBay typically uses the same coupon code for several members (as opposed to individual one-time-use codes), but the codes will only work with your eBay account if you actually received the coupon from eBay. You can check your eBay "My Messages" to see if there's a message about a coupon. Otherwise, it most likely will not work once you get to the Paypal screen. In the MS CashBack thread several folks have been discussing various eBay coupons and I've yet to see a report of being able to successfully use one all the way through checkout without having directly received it.

I got one. This is nice in light of not receiving the 10% one before. But it sure would have been handy for at least one of the HUGE guitar purchases I made several weeks ago!!!

Guess I'll have to find something *good* to buy now - hopefully this works out fine with Live CB

For eBay coupons, eBay even now has an icon that pops up at the top of the screen (when you're logged in) that says "You have a coupon" or something like that, and when you do a BIN purchase it says "You can use your coupon on this". So they clearly seem to be keeping track of coupons by account.

Are you positive? Or are you getting it mixed up with another email possibly? OPs post shows this:

- I can confirm this with my email as well.... nowhere do I see "free shipping"
