This is a good price, I paid $425.xx for mine in August.

Too bad it's only 8.9" screen. MSI Wind with 10" screen is a better alternative, IMO.

You can get the Asus EEE PC 1000H with a 10" screen instead.

Thank you, simple2easy (the OP) for sharing this deal. Appreciated!!

That said, though, I think this probably is a better deal: $250 for eee PC 900HA after MS Live Cash Back (note that while the thread title lists a price of $265, it is now $250 (read one of the last posts in that thread for more info)).

The 900HA (the eee PC I linked to) is regarded as big improvement over the 900 (the one the OP linked to). The 900HA's Atom processor is more energy efficient, and the 900HA has a 160GB HD instead of a 16GB SSD (which sounds cool, but is frustratingly slow). For more on the difference between the 900HA and the 900, see this review..

Oh, and I can vouch that the deal I linked to worked; I did the deal myself a week ago; the 900HA has been delivered, and the Live Cash Back has been credited.

This is not the new Atom processor. So I don't think it's a good deal.

how much better is the Atom? Is it mainly better in the power consumption area?

I just bought Asus EEE PC 900HA a few days ago for $247 after live.com CashBack. Its a insane deal if you dont mind waiting 60 days to get your money back. The 900ha is so much better =D. Will be a good xmas present for my gf!!

If you dont feel like doing the Cash Back this is still a pretty damn good deal though so green for me =)

Does anyone have experience w/ these? I'm on the fence w/ it's limitations, but size and gadget factor keep drawing me in.

I got a Asus EEE 1000ha from eBay with livecashback for $277. I was pleasantly surprised how fast the atom is. Windows runs as well as my laptop. Granted its XP but it runs better than Vista on my GatewayFx. In fact I use the eee as my main laptop. Everything runs well on it except gaming. IE itunes, office, etc. I love the battery life and form factor. I'd get any of the EEE PC's
