Lightscribe is a complete waste. there are no blacks.. you get light grays and lighter grays. the discs are expensive and give me read errors.. max-(not high)quality can take 20 mins if you have a lot of coverage. only arguable use is maybe making a track listing. Conversely, neato full-coverage labels go right to the spindle, they're cheap(relatively) and with a good printer, like my solid-ink laser, the results are amazing. |
For the curious, it's got a micro-ATX socket AM2 board (ASUS model M2N68-LA), nforce 430 chipset, with an open PCIe x16 slot. Details at Compaq: Text |
This seems like a pretty good deal to me. I have This EVGA 7200GS Video Card which was FAR a few weeks ago, and This 2x2GB RAM , which is currently $20.00 AR, to add to this pc. I think it should be a pretty quick machine after these cheap upgrades. It appears to also have room for another HD or optical drive, can anyone confirm? Do you think the 250W ps is enough for these upgrades? Any software or printer combo deals to make this sweeter? TIA |
FWIW, $100+ order gets free turkey with 58226915 and $150+ order gets free digital camera with 24010529. Had to call to force codes which were rejected at the web site. Struck out with both the camera [none in my area] and the bird [same reason given]. I was able to get an alternate gift certificate as a replacement for the first code. Good luck. |
