The Citi PremierPass Card – Elite Level lets you redeem a roundtrip ticket worth up to $400 after you spend $600 within three months of opening your account. You can travel whenever you want since the bonus points don't expire as long as you make a purchase with your card once every 3 calendar years.     So, is this with THEIR card...what if I cancel the card..do they take the points back? What if I have 100k pts already, they give 20k and then spend 40k points, do they consider I spent THEIR points...or my existing points..i.e. FIFO or LIFO on points?

    Yeah, for average people I agree. If you spend a lot of money, and have time to fly, I'd still probably go for it.

    I have this card and it's one of the best in terms of the points you accumulate over time. Just phenomenal.

    I also have this card, and the best thing is that you get a free companion ticket when you fly. Since I fly with my wife and kid at least once a year, thats at least 1 free ticket each year (most the time 2-3), which outways the paltry $75 anual fee.

    How difficult is it to use the free companion ticket? I see that it says a flight of atleast $299 but do fare classes effect the free ticket? I just applied for this card so it would be helpful to know how best to use it! Thanks

    The points may never expire but if they treat this like the business version which they just cancelled, then all of your accumulated flight points that have not transferred are forfeited if they decide to cancel this card as well. Way to go Citi!

    I have this card for a while - haven't had a chance to try out the free companion tickets yet, but I took a trip to India recently.

    If I read the terms right, apart from the points from the cost of the tickets, I should be getting 1 point per mile flown for everyone on the ticket - that's 8000 points per passenger, more than enough to compensate for the $75 annual fee.
