Folks, they are back on Sale @ local Sams.. atleast my Sams had it.. (New Tampa, FL one)

But the Gift Cards & the Disney tickets are gone and instead they have added an extra night..

Chk it out.. I told the salesman about the issue our fellow FW-ers have faced.. waiting for a call from them etc. The salesman had no answer to it.

Thanks.

I thought there was some kind of catch for this...My local Sams has a 4day/3nights deal for a Disney World Resort for $175...Which includes 2 Adult Tickets to Disney World.

I didn't really hear much of any catches or gotchas though, except for there being a 1 year expiration once you buy the card...Which still isn't that much of a gotcha.

I'm a bit put-off that I couldn't take any literature on the subject home with me to read through it, but I think I'm definitely going to take advantage of it.

Does anybody know if Costco has some similar deal?

I went to Sams and bought the 4 day/3 nights Disney package. I think this one is a great deal if you can use it. The Disney theme park tickets worth $300 alone.

This is the deal that is posted online currently for Disneyland:
http://www.costcotravel.com/#15___DLRSPCLRATE20080709
As I recall before Christmas last year, there was a gift card deal for Disneyland, so you should keep checking your store.
The resort deals that they offer depend on your locale.

I'd be interested in the details of the Sint Maarten deal if anyone is willing to share.

This is what I was told.

There will be no blackout dates, as long as rooms are available you can book. You have to book before 12/31/2009.

My coworker just got the Sam's $175 vacation package last night and it sounds really good! No fine print besides the basic cancellation fee. Your brochure is you actual "ticket." I found that kind of weird but I may go for it too!

I noted that there are a lot of stipulations on friends/families traveling together and no indication of what has to be done to get "gift card." No transportation.

FYI As explained to me by a Sams Club manager there ARE restrictions to these travel cards sold at Sams...

1. First and most important once you purchase, these are NOT returnable to Sams Club so be sure you understand what you are buying. When you take these Sams Club Vaction package blister packs to the register and pay Sams Club immediately prepays for your package with Diamond International Marketing. There is NO way Sams can verify with Diamond International Marketing if you have redeemed your package so no refurnds are allowed.
2. If you loose your Sams Club travelhotel package "brochure" prior to making reservations at the selected resort and receiving confirmation it cannot be replaced.
3. You must use a major credit card to secure your reservation. No debit cards or other deposit type are accepted (No branier there as this is the travel industry SOP)
4. ANY changes in your inital reservations incurrs a $25 fee per change. (No surprises there either)
5. You must particiapte in the total package to get all the package benefits. For example the Disney World Hotel 4day/3 night 2 Day Disney World package you must stay at the selected hotel or rental property on the Sams Club travelhotel package to get the Disney World tickets. You can't simply buy package to get the tickets and then make your own accomidations.
6. Travel packages are for the number of adults stated on the Sams Club travelhotel package blister pack. Additional family members or groups are not allowed to occupy your accomidations stated on the package and the hotel or rental property reserves the right to charge you for additional person(s) at their "market rate". Dependent children of the adults participating in package are allowed but may be subject to additional accomidation charges depending on the hotel or rentalproperty selected. Yo uwill be disclosed any additional occupancy fees when you make your reservations.
7. Local sales tax is not included in the Sams Club package pricing.

These Sams Club packages are sold and fullfilled by Diamond International Marketing a WELL KNOWN player in the vactaion resort time share and vacation property rental business. However, as stated on the Sams Club packages you are not required to particiapte in any presentations on your vacation package. Still this company has a imfamous rep in the travel business that you should probably checkout BEFORE jumping in. They operate under serveral business names including Diamond International Marketing, Diamond International Reality, LLC,Diamond International LLC.

i just bought both trips (orlando & las vegas) available from my sam's. the mgr there said that you can return anything you bought at sam's so i'm not worry. also, these trips are actual certificates given to you at cashier so don't loose them. certificates have to be presented at check in and whatever you decide (i.e., helicopter rides or $100 MC giftcard), it will be given to you at check in.

i just checked on the helicopter rides and the price is around $90 - $110 per person depending on which company. they said it takes around 1.5-2 hours, but that's counting them picking you up at your hotel and take you to the helicopter, then back. so actual helicopter ride is probably 10-15 minutes.

the cancun wasn't available so i'll wait until next week to see.

it would not be benificial if you can't find cheap air, but for me, having a lot of miles on AA & credits on SW, these trips will be so very cheap for me.

Grand Beach Resort is a TimeShare Community.....I am sure at some point you will be "approached"...I will pass on the aggravation.

From the Grand Beach Resort Website: (Sound Familiar?)Orlando resort vacation close to Disney World® with park tickets on the shores of Lake Bryan beach. Orlando, Florida vacation getaway close to parks, dining and attractions.

• 4 days/3 nights at Grand Beach
• Two Touch of Magic passes

This is from the terms and conditions of the offer:

This offer is designed for a select clientele. An annual income of $60,000 or more is required. Participants must have a photo ID and a major credit card, be able to understand English and legally able to enter into a contract.

Presentation - Guests must complete the tour and sales presentation lasting approximately 90 minutes in order to receive this special offer or they will be charged the full rack rate for their accommodations and will not receive the Gift. If married or involved with a life partner, both cohabitating persons must attend and complete the tour and sales presentation together. Children under 12 years of age are expected to be entrusted to a child care facility during the tour presentation, where such facility is available; if a facility is not available, any disruption of the tour presentation by children will disqualify the guests from completing the tour.

Gift - Retail value of room accommodations is $1,009 and of Gift Certificate is $222.

Presentation Attendance - If you check into your accommodations but do not attend the presentation, you will be charged for any expenses incurred by the developer minus the price you paid for your vacation getaway package – THIS CHARGE COULD BE SIGNIFICANT.

none of the wordings like above is on the certificate. check in and mozee on your way is what i believe these are.

and since it's exclusive to sam's club, you can return the certificates for refund. sam's just like costco with their return policy.

I called Diamond Resorts International today and asked if you had to sit through a presentation and they said not with the Sams Club Vouchers. I also asked if I could buy another package and let my kids stay in a different room and they said they just charge you $25 more per night if they want their own room. 1-888-249-8046 if you have questions for them.

BS These ARE NOT refundable at Sams Club. I got it direct from the Sams Club Manager who took the time to pull the vendor sheet and showed me the complete details. These cannot be returned once purchased just liek any other GC sold at Sams. Plus most of the disclosed terms ARE already on the back of the blister packs of these travel vouchers. Perhaps you just did not bother to read?
