Saw the adds in port authority. Seems like a good deal if you already have a card. However, the deal only runs through Jan, so I will pass on signing up for another card just to save a few $.

Qualifying purchases include those made with your enrolled Bank of America® Visa® check card or Bank of America Visa credit card for transportation services made directly to the transportation providers. These transportation providers include, but are not limited to: The New York Metro Transit Authority, Long Island Railroad, Metro-North Railroad, Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, Taxicabs, Busses, Tunnel and Bridge Tolls. Specifically, transportation providers must process their check card or credit card transactions under one of the following MCC codes: 4111 (SUBURBAN AND LOCAL COMMUTER PASSENGER INCLUDING FERRIES); 4112 (PASSENGER RAILWAYS); 4121 (LIMOUSINES AND TAXICABS); 4131 (BUS LINES); 4784 (BRIDGE AND ROAD FEES, TOLLS); 4789 (TRANSPORTATION SERVICES - NOT ELSEWHERE CLASSIFIED). Companies who do not process transactions under one of these MCC codes will not qualify. Examples include transportation vouchers (i.e. EasyPayXpressMetroCard®, bus passes, toll pass, etc.) purchased from 3rd party merchants (i.e. grocery store) or vendors who do not process transactions under these specific MCC codes. Bank of America reserves the sole right to make determinations of qualifying purchases for the purpose of fulfilling the Cash Back reward for this promotion.

Enrollment period is from November 1, 2008 through January 31, 2009. Only purchases made with an enrolled Bank of America Visa check card or Bank of America Visa credit card qualify for this promotion. Qualified purchases start from date of enrollment confirmation through January 31, 2009. You will receive a confirmation e-mail that serves as enrollment confirmation. Qualified purchases start from the date of receipt of the enrollment confirmation e-mail. The purchase amounts accumulate separately for each enrolled card; you cannot combine qualifying purchases from multiple cards.

We will direct deposit $10 into the primary Bank of America checking account associated with the enrolled check card within 60 days of accumulating $100 in qualified transit purchases. For enrolled credit cards, we will credit $10 to your existing balance with the lowest priced Annual Percentage Rate (APR) within 60 days of accumulating $100 in qualified transit purchases. The maximum total bonus per enrolled card a customer can receive is $100 (or ten $10 credits or deposits). Your account must be open and in good standing at time of fulfillment.

Just bought a Metrocard yesterday with my BofA check card and now I see this thread! DOH! Anyways, thanks OP!
This gives me an easy $100 for my NY/NJ transit purchases that I already make (I can easily spend $1000 by the Jan. 31st date in qualified commute, just gotta remember to buy my Feb. pass before the 1/31/09 deadline) . Also, I'm actually 'technically' getting more back since I'm part of the Transitchek program!

Does anyone know when this promotion started? And I'm pretty sure it ends on Jan. 31st, correct?
Thanks, Mistercheapoooo

If you go to NYC a lot via the PA NY/NJ crossing (Lincoln, GWB, or Holland) with 3 or more people, you should add the Car Pool plan to your plan.

Car pool rate is $2, however you have to go to the attended lanes so they can verify the passengers. Saves you $4 to $6 depending on the time you go.
