I'm so mad right now because I just bought my 2008 STI last month for $4700 off sticker and today I get an email from Sherman Oaks Subaru saying that they have a blowout sale on all 2008 STI's for $7000 off sticker + 0% financing for 63 months!

Since I can't get in on this deal, I thought I'd pass it along to some FWer's. I'm not sure if this is just for Sherman Oaks Subaru or if it is valid for all Subaru dealership but I'd get to the dealership quick if you want to get in on this deal.

Its truly incredible.. if only I waited one freaking month I'd be all over this... *sigh*

Here is the email I got for those who asked:

Even though a new STI is coming out this is still a good deal IMO.

I got the same e-mail and sent one back to Stephanie Benedict asking what she can do for me. If it's $7K off their sticker which includes dealer markup, the deal is worthless. If it's off either MSRP or invoice, I'll be kicking myself for settling for a 2.5i four months back. If I can trade the normally-aspirated one in and pick up something like $250/month for the STI, I'd probably jump on it, assuming my insurance would be at least semi-reasonable.

I would be all over this, new WRX's are out but the STI isn't changing this year. Can anyone confirm this? Anything similar in NOR CAL? i am in SF but i would drive to LA for this deal.

Thanks for the info, let the hunting begin

This is the new STI. 2008 is the redesigned model. You may be thinking of the WRX, which Subaru made Manual only and are going to have 265 HP for 2009. Yes, a 2009 STI will come out, but it is largely unchanged from 2008.

Eh it isn't that bad. I think it is a step in the right direction. The box with wing was getting tiresome.

if they still had the '07 design, it'd be a great deal. the '08 redesign killed one of my favorite cars.

It shouldn't be an issue, but make sure you have the most up to date ECU reflash when you pick it up.

the 08 and 09 are the same. no major changes until 2010 at which time i believe it will be getting a bump in power and probably a couple of suspsension upgrades.

Were there any deals in your email about 2009 Forester's?

there are no deals listed at http://www.edmunds.com/tmv/deal.html, which is normally a pretty good source for any incentives or rebates.

Chino Hills Subaru has quite a few STIs they can't sell, either, so this might be the case of an overstocked SoCal market.

whats the MSRP on this car? Any good tips on bargaining with dealerships? Do I walk with the kbb on this or any tips on a new car shopper?

EDIT: also, is this different than this thread? My goal is this car. What should I be aiming for OTD per month if I want to lease? Sorry if I sound naive.

The price is off MSRP. So the cheapest one they have will end up being $28,640 plus taxes.

Wow, if you don't me asking, how much did you end up paying for your STI?

If you're interested in the Forester, try to hold out till the 2010 model year, they're due to have a diesel that should get in the high 40's (mpg) on the highway.

They're not even in the same league, do your research first before you ask a question like this.
