Not the best deal ever on this PSU, but might be of interest to those who jumped on the 8600GT/GTS deals the past few days and want a little beefier supply. Yesterday it was 49.99 plus $11 shipping for me. |

Microcenter has the Antec Basiq 500 on sale for $29.99 + tax. Is the Earthwatts just more efficient or are there other benefits over the Basiq? |

The Earthwatts is supposedly made by Seasonics and has received generrally good reviews. Although Antec PSUs have had a fairly good reputation over the years, in recent years there have been a lot of complaints about failures mostly involving their lower price lines. I suggest checking the reviews on Newegg for bot the Earthwatts and the Basiq. Microcenter sells the 500EA for $99.99( versus $69 for the Basiq (when not on sale). The Earthwatts is also an 80 PLUS supply with reduced power consumption which saves money on the electric bill. |
