New version of the old classic, Colonization, built on Civ4 engine is coming out this Wednesday.

Doesn't need the original CivIV to play.

Linky

Shipping shows $4.98 for me, but I might go for in-store pickup on Wed.

What platform is this? Microsoft Windows? Mac OS X?

It should be clarified in the title.

I tried it out last week. I can't seem to see the difference to the original Civ 4

Out of curiosity, where did you see $23.99? It's $29.99 on their website right now and I didn't see it mentioned in today's newspaper ad (at least in the SF Bay Area one). If it's anything like the original Colonization, it'll be pretty sweet and knocking 20% off right off the bat would be nice.

If you read the thread title, you'd know that the price drops on Wednesday (9/24).

I saw it in yesterday (9/21) ad in Seattle Times.

Seems to be the same than this one: Link, which looks like CA area ad to me.

Yes, I understand that. I was curious how he got the information because it wasn't mentioned on the website or any of the ads I looked at.

Thanks! I only bothered looking at today's since the deal was posted today. That's awesome.

Yea, sorry, forgot to mention it in the first place.

Anyway, great game (at least the old one was), so I'm waiting for this.

First off, there is no demo out yet for this game.

Second it hasn't been released yet. So it is impossible for you to have played it.

Third, if you did play it you would know that other than sharing the same engine (with slightly upgraded graphics) the games and game play are quite different.

Back on topic Thanks OP. Unfortunately no frys around where I live so I guess its Circuit City for me and their 24.99 deal, which will be in effect this week and next week.

I'd guess he's mixing this one with the Civilizations Revolution, which came out, what, 6-10 weeks ago. And it's quite similar to the standard CivIV.

That makes sense. good thinking. Though it is a bit worrisome if he cant tell the difference between revolution and full fledged CivIV as there are some big differences as shown in this rundown.

Today's ad says it'll be available by noon for $23.99. It's still $29.99 online.

You're right. Also, last night the status at Frys changed from "Available to Preorder" to "Sold Out", but now it's back with the preorder.

CircuitCity has it for 24.99, so I guess that's good choice for those who cannot wait:
