The motherboard does not have "dedicated 128mb memory" Its all shared. This is an OK deal if you dont feel like building your own PC but if you do you can build a FAR better PC yourself for $200. |
onion said:The motherboard does not have "dedicated 128mb memory" Its all shared. That would be almost impossible...The OS alone would cost you @ least $69 or so... |
Ok, so an Intel E8400 ~$150 that would be FAR better than this PC, so that leaves $50 for case/psu/video card/ram/burner, right? Yeah, ok. I think someone's dreaming |
I think that the HP refurbed X2 deal for $200 was a better deal. Bigger HD (250GB), same RAM (1GB), processor was same or better. No OS on that other deal though. Still, that deal was without rebate. |

I build 3 computers and have bought 3 windows (all xp pro). I like to go legit and I don't care if anyone think it's stupid. I do not want the FED to knock on my door even if it's a 0.01% that they will. |
seems not mention anything about the monitor? |
OS aside, to buy these parts separately: Board: 40 Do the math. $205- and that's to match the quality of the components here. If you're building 'FAR' better PCs at this price, you better start sharing these deals with us. Either that or your calculator is busted. Did you get a good deal on that too? |
enter8 said:OS aside, to buy these parts separately: 1. The board in this PC is worth $30 tops. Like I said this PC is worth about $150 to PC builder. It is very clear you have no idea how much PC parts really cost and it is also clear you have no idea that the parts in this PC are utter crap other than the CPU. |
onion said:enter8 said:OS aside, to buy these parts separately: You left off the OS, not to mention the time and hassle to find the components, deal with rebates, lack of warranty, etc. Don't get me wrong - I have built EVERY desktop in our house for the past 12+ years, and consider this a hot deal for anyone interested in a basic system for web browsing, email, office, etc. OD will undoubtedly attempt all kinds of upsells - expensive monitor, memory upgrade, overpriced cables for FAR/cheap printer, etc - making it a cold deal for the inexperienced. |

Im not saying you're stupid, you just lack the knowledge to find the components real PC builders easily find. |
