J&R Link for Specs Netbook will be $349 at Best Buy B&M on Sunday. $100 internet signup WILL work for these making them $249 OTD. Limit 1 per household.

Internet Signup

I would highly recommend signing up TODAY to avoid the offer expiring. Check contract terms, Comcast and Cox service can be canceled at any time without penalty. Barcodes are not unique and BB employee may void and keep your printout after purchase.

Quick edit:

Return/Rebuy will VOID your $100 discount unless you have a new coupon to scan. I don't see a reason to RR, all my local BB still have plenty of the $450 Inspiron and $550 Gateway from last week and its Thursday...welcome to the depression.

Be aware, Best Buy site will give a false positive on stock status in the early morning hours.

1. Sign up for Internet service (cannot be a provider you currently have service with) through BB Link in OP. You shouldn't need to enter any billing information. You will get a printable coupon for $100.00 off any laptop purchase.

Different providers have different offers. If you ALREADY HAVE SERVICE from one of the providers in your area THEY WILL NOT SHOW UP WITH AN OFFER. Only an address WITHOUT SERVICE FROM YOUR LOCAL CABLE PROVIDER will show offers from them. DSL offers will most likely require a contract AND NOT BE THE OFFER YOU ARE LOOKING FOR.

2. Bring $100.00 off coupon and purchase the thing on the left ->BB Sunday Ad

Check your Acer A1. I just opened mine, it wobbles a bit on flat surface when typing. I will exchange it when they have it in stock.

if you're having trouble w/your internet, try this (ty to karmasalad):

Don't have it in front of me, but based on memory, it's something like...
Control Panel > Network Connections > right-click Wireless Internet Connection > Properties > Configure > Advanced > Power saving option

The default is Maximum. You can turn it off by setting it to None.

The laptop is good, but I won't recommend the BB, and the internet signup... is a rip off. Worrying "order and cancel" the comcast will mess up existing account... I will say pass.

Just FYI, signing up comcast internet thru BB it's like $59.95/month, WTF. If you sign up thru comcast the full price with no discount would only be ~$42.99/month, and if you are smart you can get $19.99/month (for 6months) with $100 rebate almost everywhere.

So "there is no deal at BestBuy" is still true.

A great post for all of those who miss the part about Comcast and Cox being NON-CONTRACT THAT CAN BE CANCELED AT ANY TIME, INCLUDING BEFORE INSTALLATION.

Do you mean Return the purchased item and Rebuy?
or Return the Internet Service and Rebuy??
or Return to the store and Rebuy???

I really want to get this item, but I have already canceled Internet Service.
If I keep re-sign up, I'm afraid I might get a penalty or something.
I still have the confirmation for the canceled one.
Can I still use it??

- items (I'm reading this as laptop and internet service) must be purchased on same receipt
- activation of internet service required

What is this printout that people are talking about? It seems that one must sign up for service in-store at the time of laptop purchase...

anyway, about the laptop. this was quite green at $360 after Cash Back from J&R: Link

Though this version comes with 1 GB, it still maxes at 1.5 GB (replace the 512 stick with a 1 GB stick)

Thanks for the response. Perhaps this is regional and my (San Francisco) locale offer/promotion is different than what you are seeing?

Here are the terms and conditions for mine. I see no mention of a printout with a barcode, and I don't know if I can assume that this will happen after I click on "place order" for the comcast internet.

this laptop has a a smaller screen and a smaller keyboard. Id say S10 is worth the difference.
Ive compared Asus EEE 901(8.9" screen) and Asus 1000h(10" screen) and for my 10" and a keyboard that formfactor would support were the bare usable minimum
