I have been looking for a good Laserjet and wanted something better than the starter models like the P1006, this is what I found: HP has this unit on their website for $899.99 - $450.00 rebate + tax I called the rebate number (888-385-5410) and verified that pc RUSH was an authorized distributor and they are. Also Kelly said there was a 2 printer limit per household however the rebate posted on the pcRUSH website says 1 per household for personnal use and up to 100 for business so YMMV. Live CB is 4% - 8%. I used 4% in my quote, if higher then that's a bonus. Here are the numbers: $598.86 - P3005dn at pc RUSH Seems like a great deal. This is a great printer, and I paid much more than this about a year ago. It is in our computer lab and we have printed over 35000 copies, with no problems, except when a gecko wedged itself in the toner cartridge. It does duplex printing, and does a great job. |

If the rebate works for authorized resellers, isn't one better off purchasing from TheNerds.net. Even without 5% live CB (which one would apparently get), the price is $480 with $20 or so shipping, leaving the net price at $50. With live CB, the net is $25. It all depends, of course, on receiving the rebate. |

TheNerds.net has two listings for the P3005DN, one at $892 (part number Q7815A201) and one at $481 (part number Q7815AABA). What do you want to bet that somehow the rebate on the $481 model will not be honored? The wording in the rebate about "Un-MAPPED SKUs are eligible to be combined with reseller offers once a SKU goes off MAP." worries me. Sounds like maybe some models have already received the rebate at the reseller level. If you are going to try for the rebate with one of the cheap priced units, I would call the rebate center and get confirmation that the particular HP part number qualifies, along with a name of the CSR. Edit: Beat me to it. |
