Thanks OP, just bought the white dock for $15 shipped

if you can wait, prices for all iPhone accessories are still cheaper at DealExtreme.com.

P.S. I still don't understand how these DX guys able to make money on small purchases... Say if I buy a $2 item, and they would ship it free via Air-Mail from Hong Kong. Just postage alone would cost about $2. No idea...

means your $$ can go long wayyyyyyyyyy.
1 USD = 7.8 HKD
postal air charges 4 HKD.
so u pay 15 HKD and shipping is 4 HKD. so they get 11 HKD per item for USD 2.

well if some one in UK is selling for 2 sterling and trying to make profit that is a different story.

Are most of these only compatible w/ the original iPhone or do they work with the 3G also?

I think that's a gross simplification - currency leverage doesn't really produce that much of a profit. A USD$2 item doesn't cost DE HKD$2 to acquire (not that you were implying that, but I just want to negate any impressions that DE is making HKD$9 in the example above).

It's more likely that DE is acquiring these products straight from the manufacturer instead of most US vendors that go through a distributor, thus avoiding a markup. These small items are not subject to customs fees that large containers are, which further increases costs for items purchased through distribution. That's just a guess on my part.

Beware. I had purchased 2 iphone docks from Meritline last month when they were having another coupon in conjunction with the ipodtouch50off deal. These docks were NOT OEM, which in itself wasn't a problem. What ended up being a problem was the following:
(1) Docks did not provide charge power to the iphone (there was an instance where one of them did for 5 seconds then didn't anymore)
(2) The Docks registered on the iphone as a device "not intended for use with iPhone" which is ridiculous -- shouldn't it just be a pass-through mount??
(3) The docks did not fit standard ipod cables properly -- hard to attach cable (and attaches to unit upside down of normal orientation)
(4) Took a long time to ship -- I almost forgot I ordered these just as I got them, but that's more of my own personal problem... heh

15 bucks isn't much money, even I buy chinsy stuff from DealExtreme and love it. However, this really isn't usable, so watch out.

Most of this stuff works with iPods (older ones) only. Near as I can tell, Apple hates 3rd party manufacturers.....especially the cheap Chinese ones.
