Rebate goes to City of Industry, CA. Nothing but trouble with rebates going to that city. I'm out.

Nice product but the rebate isn't very reputable, as titewad stated. Thanks, still, OP.

my advice - do NOT go for this deal as tempting as it sounds. Been there and it's been nothing but trouble/gray hair with the rebate/process

I've done many hundreds of rebates over the last 15 years, and quite a few have been to the City of Industry, while many others were also with some of the worst rebate clearing houses where even the mention of their name strikes fear into the hearts of seasoned bargain site members ... yet I have only ever been denied ONE stinking $10 rebate!!!

I care more about whether this transmitter is actually any good than I do about which clearing house the rebate is being paid; so, anyone with any direct experience using this particular transmitter, I would greatly appreciate your insight, thank you!

A free after rebate transmitter, regardless of the rebate risk according to the nay sayers, is worth it if the product is any good at all, GREEN for the deal from me OP!

Just ordered one for a gift for a friend. Ridiculous this will receive so many red just because of the rebate IMO, it's $15 outright and not a bad price if it's any good at all. It also supposedly works with the iPhone too, which some people will be interested in knowing as well! Besides, regardless of the thread crappers giving red because of their rebate warnings, I will receive my $15 rebate and this will be just another FAR item added to the long list of FAR items where people warned me I wouldn't get my rebate! Good find OP!

Cant be that bad, are they ? anyway, how good is this trasmitter ?Well as you can see, this deal is being rated for the rebate rather than the actual item even being worth anything. Over the many prior years the City of Industry clearing rebate houses (as well as other well known poorly handled systems) have had their share of complaints, lawsuits, etc., but with those problems came a more watchful eye from the government over them, which IMO has led to successful efforts in improving the experience with many of the same poorly run clearing houses of the past! Some people just won't ever get over the fact that they may have had a bad experience with a certain clearing house, regardless of how well the same rebate house may now handle the rebate process .... it's a similar concept to how people constantly bash a company like TigerDirect, BestBuy, CompUSA, etc., and won't buy products from an "XYZ" company, regardless of the merits of the deal at hand.

As with ANY product with a rebate ... YMMV!!!

Oh, and MicroSoft LS provides 2% Cásh Back on deals with Buy.com too!
Sooo, anyone with any experience with the product itself??? Inquiring minds would still like to know!

Apparently this product is so new that the major sites which I checked don't have any reviews of it yet. Appears to have hit the market in the spring of this year. Some sellers are still pricing this between $65 and $70, while others are at the $15 to $20 mark. Strange to see such a huge price difference when it's still so new on the market.

So, I see one of two reasons for the big price difference:

1) Crappy product and retailers are already heavily discounting it to move it out. Noticed that it's powered by the ipod/iphone. Battery drain?

2) Good product but the market won't support $70 for this particular accessory. Price reduction is a temporary marketing tool to stir interest.

I'm personally leaning toward reason #1, but for FAR I'm willing to try it out. If it is crappy it will always make a nice gift for nephew/niece.

Good find, OP.

City of Industry rebates aren't that bad, I have got all the checks. But the scary part is that status updates are almost non-existent so you are gambling a bit.
