Just picked up 2 APC USPs at 14.99 each to get free shipping. Just paid 6% tax = $31.78 Otherwise it's like $5 for shipping.
These are small and only really useful for a single PC or TV for a short term blip in power, but priced about the same as a decent power strip.
If you have a cable modem/router/VOIP one of these is a must and just fine for it.

yea, like one for the PC and one for the fridge to keep my beers cold!
(j/k, one of these wouldn't power the fridge, or my hungry pc for long)

it will, however, be perfect for my projector. TY op!!

Will these work for laptops and printers? It's for use in Northern California, so there aren't hurricanes or anything like that. Thanks.

Sorry, I don't need a battery backup as much as a surge protector, so I just wanted this unit for its surge protection. Will this item work as a surge protector for a laptop or printer? Can I get a better surge protector at a better price? I've been doing Topic Alerts for "surge" and "surge protector" for over a month and haven't seen any good deals until this thread.

Thanks.

UUUUU.....It is quite clear you dont understand the concept of this UPS. If it only powers your PC for just a few mins it has done its job. It was designed to power a PC long enough for one to save any work they have been doing and not for shut-ins to keep playing stupid video games during a power outage.

Beware of OLD UPS's ... the SLA batteries in them need to be trickle charged to be kept healthy ... if you have a UPS thats been sitting on a shelf for a year or two ... its not going to last long when you get it home.

Actually, its quite clear you didn't understand my post, because I know very well what an uninterruptable power supply is. Perhaps if you slowed down and read it again? I've been a PC repair tech and high end expensive audio and video equipment repair tech, so I know more about electronics than most people. I know, the beerfridge part a bad joke, but cmon, Onion, your smarter than to get confused by a bad joke

Unfortunately this UPS is of very low capacity (only 325 VA) and I doubt it would be able to even allow my power hungry pc enough time to shut down because the batteries they use gradually loose their capacity over time. In the past I've replaced the batteries in a couple of my own older UPS, but these days I just toss them. These are great for older computers.

This UPS WILL be a cheap solution (right before my power conditioner) for allowing my expensive projector to be able to go through the cooldown sequence in case of power failure.

We just had a computer eat one of its drives during a power outage at work, and it was a huge pain in the ass. I'm in for 2 of these to try to keep that from happening to my own personal set up.

Hopefully it will have enough juice for my moderately power hungry pc.

This is rated at 185 watts, and that is not as bad as it may seem. I have one of these on my Compaq Presario SR1200nx and 19" LCD and it can handle both with no problem. Of course it won't keep it going for very long, but I only want enough time to shut down manually...........and it does that just fine
in Tampa( Lightning City ).

I have an Antec EA380 (380watt) power supply. I used a Kill-a-Watt P4400 to see how much power my devices REALLY use when doing different chores. My Compaq PC only uses 112 watts with 2 Hard Drives and burning a DVD. The highest wattage was when I was doing a virus scan and playing a DVD, and then it was only 123 watts. My LCD is only 28 watts.

My BE325 does the job and it's cheap and small.

Thanks UrsaMajor, I just ordered 2 more, couldn't pass up on the free delivery.
